Universal Pictures has premiered the first trailer for “Focker-In-Law,” the fourth film in the “Meet the Parents” franchise, which opens in theaters this Thanksgiving.
Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo and Owen Wilson all return, while Ariana Grande and Skyler Gisondo will be playing the newest family members.
The first film was released in 2000 and focused on a male nurse named Greg Focker (Stiller) who desires to gain the approval and blessing of the stern ex-CIA father (De Niro) of his girlfriend (Polo).
Wilson played the girlfriend’s ex-fiancé, a wealthy and talented man adored by her parents.
The new film revolves around the son of Stiller and Polo’s characters (Gisondo), who gets engaged to a feisty woman (Grande) who seems all wrong for him.
John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three prior films, wrote the screenplay for the new feature and directs. Stiller, Hamburg, John Lesher and Jay Roach produce.
