Jack O’Connell and Delroy Lindo have both signed on for “Black Panther” and “Creed” director Ryan Coogler’s new period horror film at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Little is officially known about that project, which is rumored to be set in the Jim Crow-era South and possibly involves both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions.
The film’s star, Michael B. Jordan, is rumored to be playing twin brothers in the film. O’Connell is playing a villain, while Lindo’s part is top secret though it is said to have a musical element to it.
Filming on the project is slated to begin later this spring in New Orleans. Coogler wrote the script and is also producing alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.
Warners won the project in a major bidding war in a deal that will see some of the film’s rights reverting to Coogler over time.
The project marks a big screen return of Lindo who last appeared on film in 2021’s “The Harder They Fall”.
The new film will score a theatrical release, including an IMAX run, on March 7th 2025.
