The Flight Attendant has officially been cancelled after two seasons by streaming service Max. The Kaley Cuoco-led dark-comedy thriller was originally meant as a limited series.

After the first season, arriving in late 2020, was a massive hit with critics and audiences alike and garnered nine Emmy nominations, a second season renewal was ordered.

That second season wasn’t as big a hit with people. It did, however, give a very definite ending which hinted that this might be coming. Max hasn’t announced anything, but Cuoco has released a statement herself saying:

“What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime. I always envisioned TFA as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life.”

Max has had the axe out lately. The Flight Attendant joins Julia, Rap Sh!t and Our Flag Means Death have all been cancelled in the latest round. Max has recently renewed Chuck Lorre comedy Bookie, with awards darling HacksDC’s Peacemaker, And Just Like That, and Tokyo Vice all staying on. New shows include Duster, The Girls on the Bus, and The Penguin.
