Sony Pictures has released some new posters for their Marvel Comics film adaptation and “Spider-Man” spin-off feature “Madame Web” ahead of the film’s launch in February next year.
Dakota Johnson stars in the lead role in the suspense-driven thriller which marks a part of Sony Pictures’ Marvel Universe of Characters (SPUMC) alongside “Venom,” “Mobius” and the upcoming “Kraven the Hunter” film.
A standalone origin story of “one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines,” the suspense-driven thriller’s trailer launch the other month quickly became an online meme sensation over one particular line delivery.
Johnson plays Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.
Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet also star in the S. J. Clarkson-directed feature.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the screenplay for the film which is getting a theatrical release on February 16th 2024. It’s the first of three Sony-Marvel films opening next year with “Kraven the Hunter” coming in August and “Venom 3” in the Fall.
