A new video has been released announcing that Viola Davis and Awkwafina have joined the cast of the fourth “Kung Fu Panda” film at DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures.
In addition, it’s confirmed that the first trailer for the film is set to be released tomorrow.
The video sees Jack Black making a video call to Davis, who says she’s playing the film’s villain – a shape-shifting Chameleon sorceress. Davis then ‘transforms’ into Awkwafina (whose role hasn’t been revealed).
The new film will see Po preparing himself to become the new spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. The Dragon warrior will also be training Zhen, a fox poised to become his successor.
Previously, it was confirmed Chameleon has the ability to bring back past enemies, so we can probably expect more names announced soon.
Black, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane, and Ke Huy Quan will co-star in the film which follows in the wake of the trilogy which has earned $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office.
