Netflix has officially renewed “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight’s period drama “House of Guinness” for a second season.

The eight-episode first season began in the wake of the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness in 1860s Ireland, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery.

His last will and testament had a major impact on the fate of his four adult children – Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn) and Ben (Fionn O’Shea).

In addition, it also impacts the lives of a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness. James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Jack Gleeson, Seamus O’Hara, Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Dervla Kirwan, Danielle Galligan and Ann Skelly co-star.

The renewal order gives a second season a green light with production already gearing up for a shoot in January.

Knight previously indicated he has at least four seasons worth of plans and, like “Peaky Blinders,” it can jump years at a time with the final goal to end up a century later in the 1960s.
