The summer slopbuster season has arrived. June will bring us Masters of the Universe on 3rd, Toy Story 5 on the 18th, and Supergirl on the 26th.

I’m definitely going to see Masters of the Universe, and I might even watch Toy Story 5. The only reason I’m contemplating watching Supergirl is so I can view it for you good people.

But there’s a dark horse in the mix. Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day will hit theatres on 10th June, and it’s the one I’m most excited for.

Universal have just released a final trailer, which combines new footage with Spielberg talking about the movie.

I only skimmed this one because it seems to be revealing too much. Much of the appeal of Disclosure Day up to now, other than my naïve hope that Spielberg has one more classic left in him, is that I knew very little about it. It felt old school in that way.

Plus old school grey aliens

The obvious comparison here is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I must confess that I didn’t watch Close Encounters as a kid. I only saw it as an adult, and because I had been spoiled on the ending, I found it to be rather boring.

Instead of being swept along with Richard Dreyfuss as he uncovered the mystery, I found myself waiting for him to catch up, wondering when the space ship was going to arrive.

Disclosure Day is giving me similar vibes, so I want to go in cold. This movie seems to be flying under the radar. Is anyone excited for this?
