A legendary masked hero is making a stylish return as Zorro gets a major television reboot, with Mediawan Rights boarding the highly anticipated series for international distribution.
Produced by Secuoya Studios, the show began filming in Spain on July 25 and will continue through the end of the year. Set in 1830s Los Angeles, the series reimagines the iconic vigilante’s origins with a modern twist, blending classic swashbuckling action with contemporary storytelling.
Leading the cast is Miguel Bernardeau, known for Elite, taking on the role of the legendary swordsman. He’s joined by Renata Notni as Lolita Marquez, alongside a strong supporting lineup.
The series is written by Carlos Portela and directed by Javier Quintas, whose credits include Money Heist. Veteran producer John Gertz, known for The Mask of Zorro, also joins as executive producer.
Described as a bold origin story packed with spectacle, strong characters, and modern relevance, Zorro aims to reintroduce the timeless hero to a global audience.
The series is set to premiere on Prime Video across the U.S., Latin America, and Spain.
