Oscar-winner Laura Dern has officially joined the cast of the fourth season of HBO’s “The White Lotus”.
Dern is a longtime friend of series creator Mike White and steps in for Helena Bonham Carter, who exited last week at the start of the production.
Though Dern is replacing Carter, she will reportedly play an entirely new character being written for her by White.
Carter’s exit was reportedly due to her not aligning with the tone of the show once filming had begun.
The new run’s stacked cast includes Alexander Ludwig, AJ Michalka, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Chris Messina, Sandra Bernhard, Ari Graynor, Dylan Ennis, Vincent Cassel, Corentin Fila, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Chloe Bennet, Max Greenfield, Charlie Hall, Kumail Nanjiani, Jarrad Paul, Heather Graham, Frida Gustavsson, Rosie Perez, Tobias Santelmann, Ben Schnetzer and Laura Smet.
The show will once again take place at a White Lotus resort, this time in France during the Cannes Film Festival, and will likely feature some chaotic adventures for those staying at the establishment.
