Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis has delivered a bit of a scoop, revealing camera test images from her goddaughter Maggie Gyllenhaal’s new directorial effort “The Bride” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

The shots from the Frankenstein film showcase Christian Bale and Jesse Buckley in character as the ‘monsters’ of this story. Annette Benning, Penelope Cruz and Peter Skarsgaard also star in the film.

The project serves as a remake of James Whale’s iconic 1935 classic “Bride of Frankenstein”. Elsa Lanchester starred in the dual role of Mary Shelley and the eponymous character opposite Boris Karloff as The Monster.

In the new film, a lonely Dr. Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born.

She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.

Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler and Osnant Handelsman-Keren produce. It marks Gyllenhaal’s second directorial effort following 2021’s psychological drama “The Lost Daughter”.

“The Bride” is set to be released on October 3rd 2025.
