Ahead of its release next week, Netflix has premiered the final trailer for the adult animated series “Blue Eye Samurai” which takes place in Edo-period Japan.

The show is dubbed a “provocative and visually stunning” cinematic series that “immerses the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge”.

The story follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise in order to seek the deliverance of revenge.

Mizu is targeting four men in Japan at the time of her birth and sets off to kill them – one of whom might be her father.

Also lending their voices to the series are George Takei (Seki), Masi Oka (Ringo), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker), Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), Randall Park (Heiji Shindo), Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler), Stephanie Hsu (Ise), Ming-Na Wen (Madame Kaji), Harry Shum Jr. (Takayoshi) and Mark Dacascos (Chiaki).

The series was created by husband-and-wife team of Michael Green and Amber Noizumi who also serve as executive producers and writers. Green of course is the famed screenwriter of “Logan” and “Blade Runner 2049”. Animation hails from Blue Spirit.

The eight-episode “Blue Eye Samurai” series premieres on Netflix on November 3rd.
