The “Doctor Who” 60th-anniversary specials are just hours away from their unveiling, and ahead of that a new clip from the first of the specials – “The Star Beast” – has gone online.
The clip deals head-on with how David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor had to wipe the memories of Donna Noble (Cathetine Tate) in order to keep her alive, and how the universe now seems to be focused on undoing that.
Tennant returns as the Fourteenth Doctor this time and the reappearance of his old face appears to tie into whatever it is that is happening with Donna.
Though there are some story elements linked, the three specials are said to be relatively standalone and thus some of those questions should be answered within the first of them.
The specials kick off first on the BBC in the UK on Saturday night before having their streaming premiere on Disney+ internationally within a few hours. A specific launch time on the streamer has yet to be announced.
The next two specials will air on December 2nd and December 9th at which time Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor and will get his own full-fledged Christmas episode sometime in the weeks after followed by a new season in Spring 2024.
