Netflix’s long-running reality format “The Circle” has scored a double-season renewal, and at the same time is shifting locations.
This means production of the sixth and seventh season of Studio Lambert’s social media-style format series has shifted from Manchester in the UK to Atlanta, Georgia in the United States.
Both of the new seasons were reportedly recently shot in the city with the sixth set to air next spring.
In “The Circle,” contestants move into apartments within the same building and kept isolated from both the outside world and each other.
They are not allowed to communicate face-to-face, instead it all must be done through a social media app where they can portray themselves in any way they choose.
Every few days, contestants are ‘rated’ by the others with the lowest raters eliminated.
The Atlanta apartment block is said to be larger with more accommodations for both cast and crew, offering space for control room and editing bays, and offering the production a lucrative tax credit.
