“Don’t Worry Darling” and “Booksmart” director/actor Olivia Wilde is attached to direct a feature film adaptation of “Deadpool” co-creator Rob Liefeld’s 1995 comic “Avengelyne”.

Former Vampirella model Cathy Christian co-created the comic about the most feared warrior in Heaven’s Warhost, who single-handedly broken into Hell’s outer fortress Pandemonium to confront the Devil himself.

She is a fallen angel, banished from Heaven by God after being tricked into questioning His love for humans. She’s tripped of all her angelic abilities, other than her great strength and her blood, which, once extracted from her body, could be used as a weapon or a miracle once empowered by quoting verses from the Bible.

Avengelyne uses her powers to fight demons on earth and is being groomed to be humankind’s last hope in a coming Armageddon. In the film she is entrusted to find and protect The One, a person who is the key to protecting humanity from demons and other monsters.

Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara’s production company LuckyChap is producing the project along with “X-Men” franchise producer Simon Kinberg.

A package is being put together with the aim of being ready to take to studios and streamers in the coming weeks. Wilde is next due to direct “Naughty” at Universal Pictures with LuckyChap also producing.
