British filmmaker Christopher Nolan and his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas are to receive a respective knighthood and damehood for their services to film.
In other words, Christopher Nolan is about to become Sir Christopher Nolan.
The pair’s recognition comes after their biopic “Oppenheimer” swept the 2024 awards season and won the Oscar for Best Picture and Best Director.
The pair have co-founded and run a production company, Syncopy, and have been together since college. Nolan was previously presented with a British Film Institute (BFI) Fellowship.
Additionally, Netflix’s co-chief executive officer Ted Sarandos, has been made an honorary CBE for his services to creative industries.
Sarandos has been responsible for content operations at the streamer since 2000 and was appointed to his top position in July 2020.
