The upcoming spin-off of USA Network’s long-finished legal drama “Suits,” which saw a resurgence in interest last year thanks to Netflix, has scored an official pilot order at NBC.

“Suits: L.A.” is the title of the project, which follows the new character Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who ‘has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles’.

His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.

Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both him and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel, leading Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved. Filming begins in late March in Vancouver.

Aaron Korsh, who created the original “Suits,” will pen the pilot and executive-produce alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney.

“Suits” ended up becoming the most-streamed program of 2023 with 57.7 billion minutes viewed across its library last year.
