By Netflix has premiered the trailer for “Exploding Kittens,” a new animated series starring “Lucifer” star Tom Ellis as God Cat.
The series follows the eternal conflict between heaven and hell as it reaches epic proportions when both God and the devil are sent to Earth — in the bodies of chunky house cats.
Abraham Lim, Lucy Liu, Ally Maki, Mark Proksch and Sasheer Zamata also lend their voices to the project which hails from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ animation company Bandera Entertainment.
Netflix launched a mobile game, based on the popular tabletop card game, earlier this year. That was developed at the same time as this series which was originally set to launch this year.
No premiere date has been announced for the new show which hails from showrunners Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman.
Dustin Davis, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and original card game creator Elan Lee also produce.
