Jason’s Review of Cocaine Bear 2023 ★★★½

Happy to see that Elizabeth Banks brings more than a little Wet Hot American Summer to Cocaine Bear, not just its comic absurdity but also its 80s love, including the fact that it kicks off with Jefferson Airplane’s “Jane!”

This is definitely a movie called Cocaine Bear. Exactly what you expect and even if it’s not quite as hilarious and insane as I wanted it to be, it’s most definitely funny and crazy and very gory. Surprisingly vicious and intense at times too! Fun cast of characters and I love the criss-crossing story threads.

Definitely a good (if not exactly great) time at the movies for those with darker senses of humor.
