As much as I wish I could throw my full support behind a new movie that is both based on an original idea (not a part of any franchise or “multiverse”) and less than two hours long (both something of a minor miracle in 2022), I was quite simply bored out of my mind most of the time.
All the stars are good, especially Brad Pitt (whose hilarious role is the undisputed highlight of the film), and I’m glad to see Channing Tatum back on the screen, but this is just not thrilling and, surprisingly, rarely funny.
