James Gunn has offered an update on how the second season of Max’s “Peacemaker” series is going.
In a series of posts on Threads, the DC Studios co-chief says he was “a sleepless ball of stress” a few weeks back as he was both heavy in preparation for “Superman: Legacy” and in the midst of writing the next season of “Peacemaker”
Now though, he says he’s “feeling pretty good” and is currently in the middle of the eighth episode of the new season and calls the episode itself a ‘banger’.
As the first season had eight episodes, it’s presumed this is the finale but it’s not clear if Gunn is writing the episodes chronologically.
In addition, he says prep for “Superman: Legacy” is currently “just rolling along and exciting”. He adds that the entire film had already been storyboarded months ago – doing so makes planning and scheduling VFX, stunts, etc. easier.
David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, María Gabriela De Faría, Sara Sampaio, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, and more star in “Superman: Legacy” which is set to release on July 11th 2025. “Peacemaker” has yet to set production dates for its second season so no release date is yet locked.
