Subscribers of YouTube Premium will be getting something unexpected – Peacock Premium.

YouTube and NBCUniversal have announced a major new deal that will see the Peacock Premium subscription service included with the $15.99 per month YouTube Premium service at no extra cost.

The arrangement will kick off starting early next year, a move that will potentially bring millions of new subscribers and viewers to the service.

That means YouTube Premium subscribers will have access to live sports like the NFL, NBA and MLB and entertainment like “Law & Order,” “Saturday Night Live” and “Love Island” under the new deal.

It also could dramatically scale the streamer. Peacock has been smaller than its various competitors over the years, sitting at just 48 million subscribers.

YouTube Premium and YouTube Music, meanwhile, have a combined 125 million subscribers, but it’s not clear how many belong to one or the other (or both.

Neal Mohan, YouTube’s CEO, says: “We’re incredibly excited to expand our partnership with NBCUniversal to redefine what a modern entertainment subscription can be for consumers.”
