Prime Video has revealed that the currently in production third season of “Reacher” will be based on Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher novel “Persuader”.
In addition, the streamer has also confirmed that Maria Sten will return for the third season reprising her role of Frances Neagley, alongside Alan Ritchson’s Jack Racher.
The renewal was announced in December, two weeks before the second season premiere, and as production had gotten underway in Toronto.
The second season was previously reported to be the top title on Prime Video service worldwide across both series and movies in 2023 during its premiere weekend.
The official synopsis of the book reads as follows:
Jack Reacher lives for the moment. Without a home. Without commitment. And with a burning desire to right wrongs – and rewrite his own agonizing past. DEA Susan Duffy is living for the future, knowing that she has made a terrible mistake by putting one of her own female agents into a death trap within a heavily guarded Maine mansion.
Staging a brilliant ruse, Reacher hurtles into the dark heart of a vast criminal enterprise. Trying to rescue an agent whose time is running out, Reacher enters a crime lord’s waterfront fortress. There he will find a world of secrecy and violence – and confront some unfinished business from his own past.”
Nick Santora serves as showrunner on the series which he and Child executive produce for Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and Paramount Television Studios.
