By The first official trailer has arrived for Ncuti Gatwa’s first full season as the new The Doctor in “Doctor Who” for the BBC and Disney+ service.
The trailer comes hot on the heels of the release of this year’s Christmas special which marks Gatwa’s first full adventure as the Time Lord. Gatwa first appeared in the third of David Tennant’s three 60th anniversary specials.
This will continue the adventure that began with that Christmas special as The Doctor (Gatwa) and Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) embark on adventures. As previously reported, this is being dubbed ‘Season 1’ as opposed to Season 14.
Numerous guest stars including Jonathan Groff, Indira Varma and Jinkx Monsoon can be seen in the trailer along with numerous CG creatures,
The trailer also shows off Gatwa’s Doctor being something of a clothes horse – the character is expected to change his outfits for each episode as opposed to staying in variations of one signature outfit throughout like prior Doctors.
Sadly no specific release date was announced with the trailer, but a window was revealed with the new series expected to arrive in May 2024.
