A huge line-up of British actors has signed up for the sixth season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” which takes the show to the UK for at least part of the season.
British comedy legend Jennifer Saunders and Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley lead a group that includes Sean Teale (“Doctor Odyssey”), Amar Chadha-Patel (“Motor City”), Rhea Norwood (“Heartstopper”), Matthew Beard (“The Testament of Ann Lee”), and Sharon Horgan (“Bad Sisters”).
They’ll join the core trio of returnees Steve Martin as Charles Hayden Savage, Martin Short as Oliver Putnam, and Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora along with recurring guest star Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Donna Williams.
Considering Tina Fey’s Cinda Canning was found dead at the end of the fifth season in the closing moments, she’s likely to return for a significant role in the new run. Michael Cyril Creighton’s Howard Morris is also a likely returnee.
The last two seasons filmed their runs from March through to June ahead of airings in September/October. Filming began on the new season last month, so a November airing would be the earliest we’ll get it. However it also could just as easily be an early 2027 premiere.
The series scored very strong reviews across its first three seasons, but the aggregate review scores have slipped a bit lately, especially last season.
