“Wednesday” and “Scream” star Jenna Ortega is set to play the lead role in legendary French auteur Leos Carax’s new film “Lily May B”.

The project marks the “Holy Motors” and “Pola X” filmmaker’s seventh feature and his first since 2021’s musical romance “Annette”.

Set to begin shooting in Spring next year, this marks the first time Carax has worked with Ortega. It is, however, expected to contain all the heightened and dreamlike visuals that have become Carax’s signature.

The film’s rather crazy synopsis reads as follows:

“Once upon a time, there was a little girl, a young woman and a young boy. They each held a secret too heavy to bear.

They met in an end-of-the-world world, and together rode a big motorcycle through empty cities, deserted freeways, immemorial forests.

On their journey, they encountered many dangers, but kept going. In search of who they were; in search of a place to B, maybe?”

Hugo Sélignac (“Beating Hearts”) produces. The rest of the film’s cast is reportedly set to be unveiled in September.
