It’s official, Ryan Gosling has been cast as Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actor will re-team with his “Star Wars: Starfighter” director Shawn Levy on the feature which was just announced at the Marvel panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con.
Gosling has long been rumored for the role, previously teasing he has had brief talks with Marvel Studios about a potential onscreen turn as the character which he first expressed interest in back in 2022.
Back in March this year while out promoting “Project Hail Mary,” he said: “We’ll keep hope alive. Some discussions have been had. It’s a complicated situation.”
Which incarnation of Ghost Rider he’ll be playing is unclear. Nicolas Cage played the Johnny Blaze version in two films, while Gabriel Luna played the Robbie Reyes take.
The “Ghost Rider” movie will launch in 2028.
