The new “Black Panther” film is a go with “Alien: Romulus” and “The Long Walk” star David Jonsson set to play the grown-up son of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in “Black Panther III”.

Jonsson was revealed for the role at Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con and joined on stage by the current Black Panther herself – actress Letitia Wright.

Filmmaker Ryan Coogler also appeared on stage, where he confirmed he’s returning to direct and the film will be shot on larger format celluloid film.

In addition, Marvel has locked a December 15th 2028 release date for the movie.

T’Challa’s son was seen as a child in ‘Wakanda Forever’, but it’s likely the events of the upcoming to “Avengers” films are going to cause various alterations to the MCU.

Specifics of the story are under wraps, but it’s widely expected Jonsson’s character will take over the Black Panther mantle in the new film.
