The Guest and You’re Next helmer Adam Wingard returns to the director’s chair, after directing the first Godzilla and King Kong mash-up, for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire from Warner Bros. Pictures. A new set of one-sheets has been released for the upcoming monster smash ’em up.
The new trailer for the film is expected to debut this weekend as part of CCXP in Brazil, so it will no doubt be online within minutes after that.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire follows Godzilla, Skull Island, Godzilla King Of The Monsters, and Godzilla vs Kong. There is also a companion piece, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, running on Apple TV+. Godzilla Minus One is also now out. Basically, if you are a monster fan, you are in some kind of heaven right now.
This movie is said to feature Kong and the big lizard teaming up to tackle an undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The new movie is expected to link in with the Monarch show and delve further into the histories of the Titans, their origins, the mysteries of Skull Island, and the place of Monarch in all of this.
Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle return from prior entries, with Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House joining the cast. Terry Rosario returns as writer, with Jeremy Slater and Simon Barrett alongside.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire opens in cinemas on April 12th 2024.
