A king’s journey home is lined by survival and determination as Universal Pictures releases the new official trailer for the upcoming blockbuster epic The Odyssey. View trailer below.
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, on his long and perilous journey home following the Trojan War, chronicling his encounters with mythical beings such as the Cyclops Polyphemus, sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, while attempting to reunite with his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.
Wow….just wow. Like many out there, I am both of big fan of Homer’s The Odyssey and of director Christopher Nolan’s work. So, with the marriage of these two together, is like a match made in heaven. This new trailer showcases plenty of new footage. We get first looks at Charlize Theron’s Calypso and a more fuller look at the cyclops Polyphemus, which looks incredible. The trailer looks incredible and epic, which hits the right tone for the epic poem narrative as well as Nolan’s style of directing. All in all, I am very much excited to see this movie and how Nolan tackles with monumental Greek epic to the big screen.
The Odyssey arrives in theaters on July 17th, 2026
