There won’t be another actor’s strike anytime soon.
SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have reportedly reached a new four-year tentative agreement, according to Variety.
A vote by some of the acting guild’s 160,000 members remains to be taken to confirm it, and it will also undergo review by its national board first, but the deal is widely expected to go through.
With the new agreement comes new AI protections and a bumping up of the guild pension fund.
The new agreement succeeds the 2023 SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts, which was the result of a months-long strike that made global headlines.
It also follows the WGA’s agreement to an extended-length contract with the studios and streamers last month in its own negotiations.
The Director’s Guild now remains the only major Hollywood guild not to make a deal with the studios and streamers as of this point.
