Indie and horror go together like Laurel and Hardy, Drunken Yoda and Star Trek or Disney and disappointment. We have a trailer for a new religious horror, Diabolic.

It looks pretty creepy; I might give it a shot. Diabolic stars Elizabeth Cullen, John Kim, Mia Challis, Luca Asta Sardelis, Terence Crawford, and Mark Saurno. Daniel J. Philips is the writer and director, with Mike Harding and Ticia Madsen co-writing. The story is:

A woman’s hope for a miracle cure turns into a nightmare when she confronts the vengeful spirit of a cursed witch, determined to claim her as a vessel for her evil power.

There aren’t many details about Diabolic from the press release. However, I found that the movie has the flash card:

“The following is inspired by true events.”

This relates to one of the co-writers, Madsen’s, real-life experiences in the Mormon church. Some of the details are about her excommunication and rejection by the community.

Are Mormons from Mars, or is that Martians? In the movie, there is an acronym F.L.D.S. This stands for Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saints. Well, the ‘mental’ is right? Am I right? Hello? Is this thing on?

Diabolic will be on Blu-Ray, DVD and digital on the 25th of May. Get praying now.
