Charlie vs. The Chocolate Factory
Netflix has premiered the first photo for “Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory,” a new animated feature set in modern-day London and starring Kit Connor as the voice of Charlie Paley and Taika Waititi as the voice of Willy Wonka. The Sony Pictures Imageworks film is targeting a 2027 release.

The film sees Wonka released from a prison stint for the crime of turning a child into a blueberry. He returns to his factory determined to add a little sweetness to a bitter world, but Charlie and a group of kids plot to break into the factory. Jared Stern (“The LEGO Batman Movie”) directs. Tyrant
Oscar nominee Demi Moore (“The Substance,” “Landman”), Charlize Theron (“Apex,” “The Old Guard 2”), and Julia Garner (“Ozark,” “Weapons”) are teaming up for the high-stakes thriller “Tyrant” at Amazon MGM Studios. The story is said to be set within New York City’s elite fine dining scene, but further plot specifics are under wraps.

David Weil (“Hunters,” “Invasion”) pens and directs the project which will shoot in Los Angeles in the next few weeks and has received a California Film Tax Credit. Weil’s script is based on a story he and Cody Behan created. Theron, Weil, Natalie Laine Williams, Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona will produce. [Source: Variety]

Tomb Raider
After temporarily halting production due to an injury sustained by lead actress Sophie Turner, the live-action “Tomb Raider” TV series appears to have resumed after production was temporarily halted due to an undisclosed injury sustained by Turner.

The brief shutdown is not expected impact on the overall production schedule. Turner performed several of her own stunts for the series, but the incident in question happened off-set. [Source: TMZ]

Metro 2039
The trailer has been released for “Metro 2039,” the latest entry in the “Metro” franchise from 4A Games and the fourth major title overall following “Metro 2033,” “Metro: Last Light” and “Metro: Exodus”. The title comes to PS5 and PC later this year.

For a quarter century, the last survivors of nuclear war have been locked in bitter conflict deep in the Metro tunnels beneath the poisoned city of Moscow. Now, the underground factions are unified under one banner – the Novoreich, led by a new Fuhrer: the legendary Spartan, Hunter. You play as The Stranger, a recluse haunted by violent waking nightmares, forced to undertake a harrowing journey back down to the Metro, a place he swore he would never return to.
