Actor Jesse Plemons has teased Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s new and mysterious Tom Cruise-led film “Digger,” a project dubbed a “comedy of catastrophic proportions”. Of the project, which opens in October, Plemons tells Variety:
“It’s one of the strangest, funniest, most tragic scripts I’ve read. There’s a kind of modern-day Dr. Strangelove thing, and then it becomes something else entirely. Getting to see Tom just go for it — not in a death-defying action way but fully showing what an incredible actor he is — that was thrilling.”
Best Pancakes In The County
Nicolas Cage, Justin Long and Shelley Hennig are currently filming the action-thriller “Best Pancakes In The County” in Arkansas. Ken Sanzel (“Kill Chain”) pens and directs the project set over the course of one night at a small-town diner.
A deadly standoff involves rogue federal agents, a fast-talking con man with a dangerous past (Cage), and a waitress (Hennig) harboring secrets of her own. [Source: Deadline]
The Rockford Files
NBC has handed out a pilot order to a contemporary reboot of the classic James Garner-led 1970s series “The Rockford Files”. Mike Daniels will write while Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly and Universal Television produce.
In the series and newly paroled after doing time for a crime he didn’t commit, James Rockford returns to his life as a private investigator using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles – ending up in the cross hairs of the cops and the crooks. [Source: TV Line]
Vanished
MGM+ has premiered the official trailer for the four-episode mystery thriller series “Vanished,” which premieres weekly from February 1st in the US and select countries, followed by a UK, Canada, Aus/NZ release of all four episodes on February 27th.
Kaley Cuoco plays Alice Monroe, whose romantic trip with boyfriend Tom Parker (Sam Claflin) takes a dark turn when he disappears during a train ride in France. She is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.
