Earlier today came a scoop from Baz Bamigboye at Deadline indicating that “Enola Holmes” star Louis Partridge has been cast in Greta Gerwig’s forthcoming adaptation of “The Chronicles of Narnia” has been shot down.
A representative from Netflix, which is producing the films, has just confirmed to Teen Vogue that the report is not true, and Partridge is not a part of the cast.
An IMDb listing had the actor playing Digory Kirke, the elderly professor from C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” who has an adventure in his younger days in the chronological first Narnia novel “The Magician’s Nephew”.
As previously reported, Gerwig has been working on the project even before “Barbie” started production with plans for at least two movies.
Rumors are the aim is to adapt the entire book series into a small number of films as opposed to direct one book-one film adaptations. The property was previously adapted into three films for the big screen from 2005-2010.
Partridge was seen earlier this week at the Venice Film Festival promoting his role in Alfonso Cuaron’s Apple TV+ mini-series “Disclaimer”.
