Following its tease at the D23 showcase, Disney Pictures has unveiled a brief teaser for its fifth “Toy Story” film due in cinemas in Summer 2026.
This time out, the toys are up against electronics with an army of 50 Buzz Lightyear toys stuck in a malfunctioning play mode to serve as the villains.
Andrew Stanton (“Wall-E,” “Finding Nemo”) is set to direct the film which follows on from “Toy Story 4” which released back in 2019 and generated over $1 billion in box-office from a $200 million budget.
Tom Hanks returns as Woody and Tim Allen is back as Buzz Lightyear but no further casting announcements have been made.
The project was first confirmed as being in the works by Disney CEO Bob Iger back in early 2023.
Today it was teased along with numerous other projects from Pixar including “Elio,” “Hoppers” and “Incredibles 3”.
