Paramount+ has released the teaser trailer for “Star Trek: Section 31,” an original movie that sees Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh reprising her Emperor Philippa Georgiou role.
Here the former tyrant is now in charge of a team at Section 31, the secret black ops division of Starfleet. The trailer sees her leading a team of individuals on some sort of dangerous mission.
Additionally we see flashbacks to a young Georgiou, played Miku Martineau, and how she rose to power in the mirror universe. At her new gig at Section 31, she’s now tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets while facing the sins of her past.
Also starring are Omari Hardwick (“Power”), Kacey Rahl (“Hannibal”), Sam Richardson (“Ted Lasso”), Sven Ruygrok (“One Piece”), Robert Kazinsky (“Pacific Rim”), Humberly Gonzalez (“Ginny & Georgia”) and James Hiroyuki Liao (“Barry”).
The film has been penned by Craig Sweeny and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, and is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Craig Sweeny, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and Yeoh.
Star Trek: Section 31 will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and in all international markets in early 2025.
