Paramount+ has announced an October 24th premiere date for the fifth and final season of its hit animated comedy series “Star Trek: Lower Decks”.
The ten-episode run will debut with the first two episodes and then new ones will release weekly through the series finale on December 19th.
The new season sees the U.S.S. Cerritos crew tasked with closing subspace rifts (aka. space potholes) causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. There’s also dealing with the Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, and murder mysteries.
The release came as part of the “Star Trek” panel at San Diego Comic-Con inside Hall H. When it was stated by the moderator this would be the final season, it was was met with a loud boo from the crowd who otherwise were much more positive.
Cast members Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells and Jerry O’Connell, along with executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Mike McMahan were on hand for the panel.
