With tickets now on sale, Marvel Studios is ramping up the promotional rounds for “Deadpool & Wolverine” with multiple new promo clips and a new 17-minute video interview that the actors and director just gave to Fandango.
A big part of said interview is a discussion of the film’s R-rating with Ryan Reynolds saying: “I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean there’s no other way to do it.”
Indeed, “Deadpool and Wolverine” is notable for being the first R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie at Disney and with it comes freedom: “[The R rating] really [allowed] us to do anything and everything in a world where anything and everything is possible”.
He adds that he’s proud of Disney for doing it, calling it a “huge step for them” and that it “adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining forever.”
That’s not all though. The recently released 60-second TV spot advertising the sale of tickets contains a hidden link to a secret ‘Disclaimer’ video message from Reynolds with the actor promising the film is as “paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth”.
He also says it will “completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credits sequence” as those are “always just a commercial for another movie”. Check out that video and another ‘tickets on sale’ TV spot below.
