If’s official, Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join the new “Jurassic World” film in the works at Universal Pictures.
“Godzilla” (2014), “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “The Creator” filmmaker Gareth Edwards will direct the project from a script by the original “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World” scribe by David Koepp.
Edwards stepped into the role after “Bullet Train” director David Leitch exited following a short attachment.
Universal and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners are moving fast on the project which already has a July 2nd 2025 release date set and needs to get into production ASAP with a June start of shooting date already set.
Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing the film which, though taking place in the same continuity as the earlier films, is tipped to take place years later and won’t involve any of the prior cast.
This marks a return to franchise filmmaking for Johansson who also stars in the upcoming animated feature “Transformers One”.
