With the Wonder Woman role firmly in her rearview mirror, Gal Gadot is now speaking more candidly about how rough her exit actually was.
The former “Fast & Furious” franchise actress confirmed her retirement from the role last week, wishing the actress who takes it next the best of luck.
In a new interview with Happy Sad Confused in the wake of that, she spoke about her experience of letting the role go and was asked if DC Studios told her about the originally planned “Wonder Woman 3” being cancelled.
She revealed they actually told her the opposite, and the way the whole thing went down was kind of a mess:
“They were like, ‘We’re going to develop it with you.’ The third [Wonder Woman]. But I saw the way everybody else was handled, right?. The Henry [Cavill] situation was not handled elegantly, to say the least. Same with Patty [Jenkins]. [It] was not handled elegantly.
I feel like we’re all adults, and it’s all good. And it’s not even about them. They are there, and they’re there to do what they believe in, and it’s all good.
I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to wear these boots and to have the character be so celebrated and be the vessel at that point in time.”
Gadot adds that whoever takes it next will hopefully “enjoy the ride” and treat the role “respectfully”. The actress will shortly be seen in the action thriller “The Runner”.
