A few days ago, nearly five minutes of footage from “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” leaked online – what appeared to be the same material shown privately at CinemaCon earlier this year.
The clip appears to be the new film’s opening scene combined with a montage of traditional trailer-style clips, but as it was for exhibitors and not the public, it boasts footage that is far from final.
Nonetheless, the leak has been a headache for the studio, which is quickly swatting it down left and right with copyright strikes.
Those who’ve seen it describe scenes like Miles battling Spider-Man 2099, a new-look Peter B. Parker, Spider-Ham gearing up for a fight with The Kingpin, and The Spot fully unleashed.
Now, producer Chris Miller has responded to the leaks on X, saying on social media: “Not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage.” Either way, the reception to the clip so far has been gushingly positive.
“Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse”is still not due out for another ten months, with animation, effects and rendering still being polished and expected to continue doing so right up until release on June 18th 2027.
