Black Bear has premiered the unique first posters for the upcoming romantic fantasy feature “Wicker” opening in limited release on October 23rd.
Olivia Colman stars as a smelly and ridiculed fisherwoman in a seaside village where, fed up with small-minded neighbors, she commissions the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage) to create a husband to be made from wicker.
In an otherwise conservative town, their unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos, the producers say in their film synopsis. Alexander Skarsgård plays the wicker creation, a role originally slated to be played by Dev Patel.
Elizabeth Debicki also stars in the film which went into production back in 2024. The movie premiered at Sundance earlier this year and was directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson.
The poster comes ahead of the film’s first trailer which launches tomorrow. The movie scored strong reviews and a standing ovation out of Sundance.
