From the producers of “Backrooms” comes, essentially, Backroads. NEON has premiered the trailer for “It Ends,” a new horror feature.
The story follows a friend group of graduates who go on a late-night drive, but accidentally turn onto a never-ending, two-lane hellscape surrounded by untold horrors and cosmic forces beyond their understanding.
Alexander Ullom pens, edits and directs the film which stars Phinehas Yoon, Akira Jackson, Noah Toth, Mitchell Cole, Jon Linstad, Jenny Doyle and Ian Weir.
Matthew Robert Cooper, better known as recording artist Eluvium, provides the film’s score. The film had its premiere at the South by Southwest Festival in March last year.
The film scored strong reviews, including a 100% (8.0/10) on Rotten Tomatoes, with some labelling it a modern spin on Jean-Paul Sartre’s “No Exit”.
It had a very limited four-week digital rental window in December via Letterboxd Video Store. Within a week of that going live, NEON acquired worldwide rights to the film for a theatrical release and is now doing so on August 21st.
