A while back came word of Illfonic, Gun Interactive, Compass International Pictures and Further Front’s new video game based on the “Halloween” film franchise.

The title, made in Unreal Engine 5, is a big ol’ tribute to John Carpenter’s 1978 original film, and the action takes place in Haddonfield on that night.

The game boasts a single-player story mode, playing with bots offline, or facing others in online multiplayer, with each mode rewarding stealth, strategy, and skilful play.

While previously trailers have focused on the environments and mostly alpha footage, today comes the trailer showcasing gameplay from the game’s single-player mode.

In this mode, you play as Michael Myers as he escapes Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and makes his way to Haddonfield – evading the authorities. The mode runs across six chapters, and each chapter contains a distinct set of secondary challenges and in-game collectibles that reveal additional lore, new executions and gameplay scenarios to encourage replayability.

The development team recreated specific shots from the original and leaned into the original score and production design.

The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 8th. Digital pre-orders are now available.
