War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing! Well, it’s good for movies, as there have been a lot of movies about it. A new indie trailer is out called Landship, and here is a trailer.
They are obviously on a budget, but it certainly looks interesting. Landship stars Sam Dowdy, Vin Hawke, Matthew Canny, Jeffrey Mundell, Steve Healey, David Dobson, and Jack Sherlock. The story for Landship:
Stranded and slowly sinking into the fetid mud of Passchendaele, the crew of a British WW1 Tank fight for their lives against an insidious and determined enemy.
Callum Burn is the director and writes alongside Andrew Burn. The two have a history of war movies, including Battle Over Britain, Spitfire Over Berlin, and Lancaster Skies. I can’t say I’ve seen any of them, but I’m not a big one on war movies.
From the press release. Kaleidoscope Entertainment is excited to announce that World War One survival epic, Landship, will arrive in UK cinemas on 26th June.
The latest film from the producers of smash hits Lancaster Skies and Battle Over Britain, it brings to life a true story from the 1917 Battle of Passchendaele with incredible action and historical detail.
The filmmakers will also be holding a special Q&A screening at Woodhall Spa’s Kinema In The Woods on 1st July, with tickets available to book now.
