This year’s Best Actor Oscar winner Cillian Murphy has been rumored to portray the villain in the upcoming “Far Cry 7” game at Ubisoft.
Eurogamer reports that game news leaker j0nathan, who has previously delivered accurate reports on Ubisoft titles in the past, revealed the potential casting in a cryptic tweet.
If true, Murphy would follow in the footsteps of Giancarlo Esposito who portrayed Caribbean fascist dictator Anton Castillo in the sixth game, Greg Byrk’s Midwest doomsday cult preacher Joseph Seed in the fifth game, Troy Baker’s self-appointed Himalayan leader Pagan Min in the fourth game, and Michael Mando’s insane Vaas Montenegro in the third game.
Rumors of a seventh “Far Cry” game stirred late last year with reports claiming it will include a non-linear story based around the kidnapping of the protagonist’s family.
The game also reportedly features a ticking clock as the campaign must be completed in the span of 24 hours in real-time of playtime – which equates to 72 in-game hours.
Ubisoft has yet to confirm that a “Far Cry 7” is on the way, let alone announce the cast so this remains very much rumor for now. Ubisoft is also rumored to be developing a standalone “Far Cry” multiplayer game.
