Brendan Wayne, the actor and Pedro Pascal body double who dons The Mandalorian suit on the set of Disney and Lucasfilm’s “The Mandalorian” series, has revealed the production window for the upcoming film.

Appearing on The Chatooine Show, Wayne says he recalls the show’s creator and film director Jon Favreau stating that production on “The Mandalorian & Grogu” will commence in June: “From what I heard, that’s what I keep reading everywhere, it’s in June. I think Jon [Favreau] said June.”

Asked if the script for the movie was done, Wayne says Favreau is someone who would never do something half-assed and that “Star Wars” matters a great deal to him:

“They couldn’t have greenlit something without a script … I will tell you, honestly, like Jon [Favreau] would never do that. I understand production, like the studio, being like, ‘Hey, you’re doing a movie, not doing Season 4?’ If that’s how it occurred. That’s fair, because it’s in their best interest.

They make more money off a movie, it’s not even close. It’s not even close! But Jon loves and honors everything he does , but specifically Star Wars, because for him, it means something beyond this moment. He would never do something half-assed. It matters too much to him. And [Dave] Filoni would never let it happen.”

No casting for the film has been announced as yet, whilst a released plot synopsis is frustratingly vague, and the movie isn’t expected to score a release until 2026.
