Kevin Greutert, who directed the sixth, seventh and tenth entries in the “Saw” franchise, will return for the upcoming eleventh film “Saw XI” at Lionsgate.

Bloody Disgusting broke the news, the film expected to see Tobin Bell returning as John Kramer/Jigsaw in this new installment to be released on September 27th.

As “Saw X” was intended to be a finale for the Jigsaw character, the new film could see a new antagonist come into play. New writers are also coming onboard.

The “Saw” timeline is infamously convoluted and so it’s not clear where in it this new entry will play out.

Greutert’s “Saw X” saw some of the best reviews for the franchise since the first and became a surprise big box-office hit – taking in $112 million from a $13 million budget.

Greutert himself has been involved in the franchise in some capacity (editor, executive producer, director) since the 2004 original.
