If there’s one console-only game the hardcore PC crowd desperately wants Sony to port over to their platform, it’s “Bloodborne”. The original 2015 action RPG title hails from “Dark Souls” and “Elden Ring” creators FromSoftware.

It was one of two titles from that developer that has remained exclusive to the PlayStation ecosystem (the other being “Demon’s Souls”). The game sold over two million copies worldwide in its first year and won numerous awards along with scoring a strong 92/100 on Metacritic.

PlayStation has done nothing with the property since the PS4 release back in 2015. Now an old report suggesting a remaster was reportedly in the works for PlayStation 5 and PC at one point has found new life this week.

In comments posted on the ResetEra forum (via Comicbook.com, former Game Informer editor Imran Khan confirmed an old report from longtime game scooper Lance McDonald that a “Bloodborne” remaster was in the works for PS5 and PC and ultimately cancelled.

Khan confirmed that McDonald was correct and “Bloodborne” was once planned, but adds that it has been years since he last heard of the project. He also tells fans not to hold their breath for any news on such a project.

The game itself unfolds in the decaying Gothic, Victorian-era-inspired city of Yharnam. The Yharnamites residents are afflicted with a disease that transforms them into horrific beasts. Attempting to find the source of the plague, Hunter must unravel the city’s mysteries while fighting beasts and cosmic beings.

The comments come in the wak eof a report back in November emerged that writer Darren Lemke was attached to a film adaptation of the game in the works at Sony Pictures.
