Shucked
The just-closed Broadway musical-comedy “Shucked” is getting a feature film adaptation at Mandalay Pictures with the news revealed during the production’s final performance. Jason Michael Berman, Jordan Moldo, and Alan Fox produce whilst Robert Horn is writing the screenplay adaptation. [Source: Variety]

The Color Purple
The recent musical film “The Color Purple” has been announced as being available for PVOD on January 16th, followed by physical format and regular rental release on March 12th. There will also be a handful of bonus features.

Gears of War
The rumored remaster of the first three “Gears of War” games has reportedly reached the internal testing phase. Developer The Coalition is said to have rebuilt the games in Unreal Engine 5 and is reportedly feature-complete with an official reveal potentially coming as part of this week’s Xbox Direct presentation. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
PlayStation has released a new trailer for “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,” the second in its planned trilogy remaking the original “Final Fantasy VII”. The game will first launch exclusively on PS5 on February 29th with a PC version likely later in the year (‘Remake’ took six months to jump from PS5 to PC).

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
Famed visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic has premiered a featurette for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” the clip going into the visual effects work they did on the movie and showing how much was surprisingly added via visual effects in post-production.
